About Loakel

Loakel was started in August of 2020, with the goal of providing a free and user-friendly way to buy and sell local produce and handmade goods, with the browsing happening virtually due to the current pandemic. The first market zone is Farmington, NM and surrounding areas.

In the short term, we’d like to continue growing our list of vendors and facilitate transactions with customers using the current iteration of our website.

In the long term, we plan to implement a mobile app for iOS and Android, as well as making improvements and adding features to the website. We also plan to expand to other zones in the future, with the likely second zone being the Gallup, NM area.

Ultimately, we hope that Loakel will become the primary commerce platform in the USA for handmade or hand-grown items sold locally.

Our intention is that the platform always remain completely free for both the vendors and the customers. Hosting and maintaining a website and especially mobile apps is not a cost-free affair, so the platform will be supported by small advertisements.

The Team

Loakel is a product of Redub Labs, a software company started in 2020 by the Buder family of Farmington, NM.

We are technology enthusiasts and like making cool stuff.
We feel it’s very important for kids to learn how to productively use technology.

So, with every project we undertake we are doing our best to involve our kids so they can learn how to develop and implement ideas, coding, business strategy, quality and professionalism.

More cool stuff to come!
